The weekend

The weekend was...*sigh* so exhausting.  We are so worn out and keep adding more and more to our schedule.  I guess we are a glutton for sleep deprivation.  Not really but we have been going non-stop for a couple weeks now.

On Friday, Connor had a doctor's appointment.  No concerns, only on a military post to be eligible for participation in any activities, they have to be registered once a year in a program called CYSS (Child and Youth Sports Services) so we had to have a physical and update Connor's information.  Talk about a whirlwind!!  Picked him up from school and barely made the appointment in time, only for the appointment to run late and we had to rush home to inhale dinner to make football practice in time.  WHEW!  Football practice on Friday was a tough one....super cold and rainy and for a short portion of the practice we had, wait for it......a wintry mix!!  It is too early for a wintry mix and most of us moms were sitting mighty close to huddle in warmth.

Saturday we were up and at 'em early because Connor had a football game at home versus the Carthage Bears.  Oh man...we got our butt kicked up and down the field.  I know these games are supposed to be "just for fun" and we aren't supposed to keep score but you couldn't help but notice how tough it was for the kids to keep getting scored on.  After the game and finally getting home and settled with a very late lunch and rest time, we decided to head out and buy an Under Armor shirt for Connor to try and keep him warm under his football jersey.

Sunday, after church, we went with some friend's to their camping property to spend the afternoon.  We fished for awhile but it was evident the kids had reached their limit and it was time to go.

Needless to say, with expection to football practice this week and Connor's game on Saturday, we are laying as low as we can this week and trying to give everyone an opportunity to rest and re-coop a little.
