Flat Stanley

Have you ever heard of Flat Stanley?  It is a super cute book from the 60's that is making a HUGE comeback over the past few years.  Connor got Flat Stanley as a Christmas gift from Aunt Chrystie this year and he loves it.

Stanley Lambchop and his younger brother Arthur are given a big bulletin board by their father to display pictures and posters. He hangs it on the wall over Stanley's bed. During the night the board falls from the wall, flattening Stanley in his sleep. He survives and makes the best of his altered state, and soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door, and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite. One special advantage is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends by being mailed in an envelope. Stanley even helps catch some art museum thieves by posing as a painting on the wall. Eventually, Stanley is tired of being flat and Arthur changes him back to his proper shape with a bicycle pump. -Synopsis from Wikipedia

So imagine my surprise when we get home from our Florida trip and Flat Stanley comes home in Connor's backpack. No, not the book.  Nope, an actual Flat Stanley.  Well, if we are being honest, it is a Flat Daniel, from his penpal Daniel in Germany.  Augustinian has a partner school in Germany and their kindergarten class and ours are exchanging Flat "Stanley's" to exchange.  The idea behind the exchange is to take your Stanley with you everywhere you go.  You take pictures of you with your Stanley on all your adventures and journal it to share with your penpal.  Enjoy some of these pics with our Flat Daniel.
