Wrapping it up

Connor was off school on Friday but little did he know that Mimi and Perry were coming into town to visit with Ben and spend the weekend doing some super fun stuff with us.

We took everyone to Behling's Apple Orchard on Saturday morning in Mexico, NY.  I love this place....truly one of my favorite Fall places to go to.  We picked some apples and then hung around the Farm where we enjoyed a yummy lunch and rode on some fun rides (including a pony ride for Alaina and a zip-line for Connor).  After we left the Orchard, we drove to Connor's very last football game of the season versus the South Jefferson somebodies.

Aye aye aye...they whipped our heinies.  Since we don't "officially" keep score, I don't know how bad it ended up but it was, well, bad.  On the plus side to a lopsided game, the boys got to play some new positions.  Connor played middle linebacker for the majority of the season (for those unfamiliar with football this is on the defense ;) )  For the final game, he played the majority of his time on offense as a tackle.  He actually did really well.  We were so impressed with how well he picked up a position that he hadn't practice much at all.

By the time we finally left the game, we were all really worn out from all the fun and sitting on the bleachers in the warm sun for the game.  The kids definitely went to bed early this night.  On Sunday, Mimi and Perry had to head home after lunch.  We didn't lounge around though.  Connor had his Football Party.  Talk about mass chaos!!  23 5-7 year old boys running around like crazy people!  I have some nice pictures of Connor and his super cool football trophy and with the coaches.  As soon as I upload them, I will post those pics as well as from Mimi and Perry's visit.

The fun didn't end on Sunday though.  Nope, everyone had the day off on Monday too.  It was rainy and dreary all morning so how do you spend a good hour or so?  Take the kids to play at daddy's work, of course!  Daddy got work done and the kids and I played in the back area where all the lockers are located.  Think of a huge storage looking building with lockers lining the walls and a huge open space in the middle.  Upstairs is some CrossFit fitness equipment...the perfect place for kids to have an obstacle course and run out energy.

Daddy was back to work today but Connor was still home with Alaina and I so we got back into our semi-normal routine and had a good day.
